Friends of Bundenbach-fossils "I first conceived of this website while I was reading n article from Der Aufschluss" (Nr. 6, 1968) "Continuation and Intensification of the Hunsrück-Slate Inquiry" by Fritz Kutscher, Wiesbaden, Germany. Kutscher hoped this article would give to give a new impetus to Hunsrück-slate investigations. He deplored the fact that such investigations were coming to a standstill, due to the shutdown of the mines and a decline in the number of persons with an actively studying the Hunsrück. Today, 37 years later, the quarrying of the slates is has ended, and new material has become extremely difficult to find. When I read the article I was filled with enthusiasm for my hobby, and immediately began to make plans. Of course, some of these plans were not realistic, and I had to give them up. What proved feasible is the present Website. With it, I hope to make at least a small contribution to maintaining interest in the extraordinary Hunsrück fossils. Currently, the site has 3 major sections. a. Fossil exchange. b. Incomplete fossils. c. Items of special interest. In a) there are photos of specimens which are offered for trade. In b) there are photos of fossils that are not complete. These are shown in the hope that the missing portions are out there and can be found. In c) there are photos of fossils of uncertain identity, which some persons viewing this website may be able to recognize. I hope to develop this Website further, and look forward to receiving reactions and advice. Hermann Lintz In June 2005
